en marché award winner
Production, management, sales and marketing are at the heart
of the activities at Atkins et Frères.
The family enterprise markets several sea products such as shrimp,
mussels, scallops and mackerel that have undergone a first transformation
in the Gaspésie and the Magdalen Islands. Sixty-five per cent
of Atkins et Frères' production is realized with species derived
from aquaculture (fresh and salt water). Another remarkable fact
is that the enterprise transforms underused species such as mackerel
and spiny dogfish.
Smoked mussels, Gaspesian scallops, sample plates from the smokehouse,
morsels of salmon, spiny dogfish fillets, old-fashioned smoked Atlantic
salmon and salmon roasts. Is your mouth watering? All of these products
are prepared by the book at Atkins et Frères. You can buy
them directly at their shop situated in the cove at Mont-Louis in
the Gaspésie.
